TT #98

Spring Break in the Bayerischer Wald
Part 2: Passau

Over spring break, we rented a vacation house in southeastern Bavaria, near the borders of Austria and the Czech Republic. We thought we might cross those borders, but there was so much to do in the local area, we didn't bother, and ended up spending a lot less time on the road and more time having fun.

This week: Passau. The previous pix, if you missed them: 1

You can always click on the pictures to see a larger version.

*but the rule is: fountains are always picture-worthy. I'm not sure why.

Next week: the Celtic village.

A list with beautiful photos again...thanks for the virtual tour! Happy TT!

WOW WOW WOW!! So #2 - Flood levels? Really?? Here in the Western US, were lucky if we have weather data dating to the 1900s - can you imagine since 1600s?? I think you'd have such a sense of belonging. Wow.

And the churches are amazing too! Thank you so much for sharing this adventure with us. I've said before that we aren't traveling now - it's delicious to travel in your photos.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Wow..is all I have to say. Happy TT my friend and thanks for stopping by:) Its always great to see you.

Beautiful pictures. It's scary to see how high the water can get. Happy TT and have a great week. :)

how lovely it is sooo nice to visit through the Internet

You have such a great eye for composition.

I will use these in my classroom today!

Thanks.

Oh awesome! I love the photos.

I like how I can travel vicariously through blogs.

Thanks for dropping by mine! :)

The interior of the cathedral is just gorgeous, and I love the flowers. So colorful.

More gorgeous photographs. Happy TT.

It looks lovely there!

Oh wow! The place look gorgeous! Love the photos :)

The church and cathedral interiors are just magnificent. I like to be in awe in the presence of holiness. I really like that golden spray of radiance at the first altar.

And the spring flowers are glorious, too. Thanks for continuing our trip through Bavaria.

Yes, ugly fountains are picture-worthy. I think that's because fountains of all aesthetic types are becoming more and more rare. Too bad.

The rest of the pictures are gorgeous, too. I'm still envious of your travels!

(and yes, mouth pain + clarinet = no practice for the day. I agree wholeheartedly.)

Love the inside of St Paul's, the flowers, and all the pics of St Stephen's -- simply beautiful! #2 is interesting as well.

Wow - great pics, all of them!

I'm weird so my favorite is the one of the alley... there's just something about steep, narrow, twisted, cobbled, bordered-by-tall-buildings, passageways-overhead type places that get my imagination all hot and bothered. (In a good way, really!)

Thanks so much for sharing and I can't wait for next week!

:)

Wow, they're beautiful! I'm so jealous that you get to visit those wonderful places. :)

I love your pictures. The ones of the church and the wildflowers is are gorgeous.

*sigh* I'm really missing Europe right now.
