Since Carl's in Switzerland, Camden and I watched this last night, along with The Blair Thumb. This must be my week for Star Wars spoofs. If it's not clear from the cover or the YouTube preview above, this is Family Guy's version of Star Wars.
It's very cute. Stewie is just right as Darth Vader, and there are some really amusing bits. My favorites were the ones where the orchestra showed up and then at the very end where they were discussing the Robot Chicken version of the Star Wars spoof. Perhaps we'll watch that one tonight just to compare and contrast.
Still, fun as it was, it was more homage than spoof. Other than occasional asides, it stuck closely to the original Star Wars story. The jokes were more added-on than poking fun at the original. I'm not complaining--it's nothing I didn't expect--just explaining why for me it was worth 3.5 stars.
