Link of the Week #51
http://www.freerice.com/index.phpI don't remember where I found this, but it's been making the rounds. Basically, it's a vocabulary game, and for each word you get right, they "donate 10 grains of rice through the United Nations to end world hunger."
Each time you answer correctly, the next word is a little harder. Answer wrong, and you'll drop down a level and get a slightly easier word next time.
The first time I played, I couldn't get past level 48, even after donating 2000+ grains of rice (that's 200 words answered correctly, plus all the ones I missed). Today, though, I got to level 50 after only 940 grains of rice, so yay me!
I suppose you could use a dictionary, but that would be cheating... and it would be a lot more time-consuming.
Warning: this is a time-sink, especially if you're as pertinacious as I am.
