TT #127
I'm catching up on posting photos--I decided to post them in Thursday Thirteens, rather than in Weekend Updates, since I don't seem to be able to manage to write weekend updates lately. These are from April--spring break. We went to a Roman fort with Carl's mom. The name escapes me, so I can't provide a link. I'll edit it if I remember, or if a Google search is fruitful.
One of the coolest things about this was the perspective I got from and for the Codex Alera books by Jim Butcher--since the humans in the series are descended from a lost Roman legion.
You can always click on the pictures to see a larger version.

If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

Cool! I am reading George RR Martin novel right now, and it's full of castles and forts and high walls and stuff. Being able to see these pictures is bringing a lot of the book to life.
Now, to see it in person... I am SO envious of the adventures you go on!

I enjoy looking at these photos, Darla. It nice to see Carl's mom in one of the photo. Sound like you guys had wonderful time :)
Thanks, Julia! I've gotten a lot better at remembering to take the camera along, so you'll be seeing lots more pictures. This is like the modern version of the vacation slide shows people used to torment their friends with. hehe.
