TT #113

Pictures from our trip to San Antonio

If you've been around here a while, you know we spent a month at home in San Antonio this summer getting Curran settled. We were so busy, we kept forgetting to take pictures--and really, we didn't do a whole lot that was picture-worthy. But we did take a few, so here are some. The header is the Tower of the Americas downtown. It's the only picture we took downtown.

You can always click on the pictures to see a larger version.
1.
the highway as you're leaving the airport--I really like how they've painted the overpasses, etc. It looks so friendly.
2.
gas station at the entrance to our subdivision
3.
the ubiquitous Whataburger--they're everywhere

this turned out a little blurry, but it's a sign on a cow.

great minds . . . my list is on travel pics, too. Never heard of whataburger. :)

Did you see an armadillo?

I used to live near Houston, pretty flat there too.

Signed, WildTHing

I've never heard of Whataburger - what a great name. Love the painted roof too.

So, did it feel like coming home or leaving home when you got back to Germany?

I love San Antonio, I've been there twice now, and would go back in a heart beat!

San Antonio was the only place I truly loved in Texas!

I was going to say it didn't look dry enough for San Antonio, until I got to the scenery pictures.

Whataburger is everywhere in TX--its headquarters is in Corpus Christi. Fast food, and, IMO, better than McD's or BK. (heresy, I know) The chicken fingers come with gravy instead of packaged sauces, and the justaburgers come with mustard, onions, and pickles--you have to ask for ketchup or mayo.

We did see armadillos--just didn't think of taking pix of them.

Funny, at this point, both places feel equally home and equally alien.

Yeah, we love San Antonio. Carl's from Germany; I'm from Michigan, and San Antonio is the place where both of us just felt at home.

It's definitely dry--the pictures in the neighborhood look green because we all have sprinkler systems. :-/

Great pics from your trip! I would love to visit Texas one day :)

Happy TT and thanks for stopping by earlier :)

Entertaining photographs. Happy TT.

Sure does look sunny and warm down there!

I think the geese were hungry... and hoping you had a Whataburger.

*G*

We have Whataburger in FL too. Love the geese!

Great pics...boy, you sure get around, dont you?? Happy TT my friend and thanks for stopping by:)

Great pictures! Looks like a fun trip!

Great pics, Darla! I especially love the one with the geese... LOL. Thanks for sharing. :)

What a fun trip and beautiful. I love that cow!

Looks like a nice neighborhood! Love the geese!

It must have been fun going down memory lane, while driving around the road :) I enjoy your pictures!
