Monday Morning Meme

I stole this from Julia at A Piece of My Mind:

Hometown Meme

The Rules: Answer the questions, tag 5 people and then go off on your travels to their hometowns. ONLY ONE answer for each of the questions. No ties!

The question, of course, is where is my hometown? I'll use the town where I'm currently living: the Miesau part of Bruchmühlbach-Miesau, Germany.

Best Place to Eat:
This isn't too difficult, because there are only a handful of restaurants in the town: one pizza delivery, one DĀner-kebap fast food place, a German restaurant and an Italian restaurant we've visited precisely once each, and the winner:
Metaxa, a Greek restaurant. The food is good, the service is friendly, and in decent weather, it's in walking distance. What more could you ask?

Best Shopping Mall:
*laughing hysterically* There's nothing even remotely close to a shopping mall in Miesau. The closest, and nicest--simply by virtue of actually being a mall--is the Saarpark-Center:

Famous Landmark:
All I could find was the Protestant church, built in 1738. Not even all that old: The Catholic church is in the Bruchmühlbach side of town.

Best Tourism Attraction:
There's really not much in the town itself--even the city hall could only come up with bike and walking paths and the swimming pool:

Best Place for the Kids:
That would be the aforementioned pool.

Popular Outdoor Activity:
Walking on those aforementioned paths.

Breathtaking Views:
We're in a wide, flat valley, so there's really not much to see. Except on New Year's Eve when you can see the fireworks in three towns.

Only Found in Miesau:
How about the Miesau Army Depot.

I'm thinking I should have widened the area--there's not a whole lot exciting here in Miesau. But if I had, it would have been much harder to decide which things to choose.

I came across your blog while doing a search for the Miesau pool. I'm trying to find out how much it costs and what the hours are. I live in Miesau! We've only lived here 6 months. My husband is stationed at Ramstein. Is your husband in the military?

Sorry it took me a while to answer you. My husband is indeed in the
military. He was stationed at Landstuhl, but we're in the process of moving to Heidelberg--hence the delay.

The pool costs 1.50 euro for kids and 3 euro for adults. I'm not sure about the hours.

Hope you enjoy your stay here!

Hello, I have jumped to your blog by accident. I am looking for my gradfather relatives and also his grave in Miesau. He was Roman Catholic. Do you know by any chance email address/post address of this church in Miesau. Sorry to change the subject but I really don't have a clue where to search. My email address is: krzysia.ch@gmail.com. Thanks in advance.

I also live in Miesau, and saw your inquiry online. Here are some links for additional information:
