BTT #22

Note: scroll down for the ThursdayThirteen.

Booking Through Thursday

Dessert first:
  1. Do you cheat and peek ahead at the end of your books? Or do you resolutely read in sequence, as the author intended?
  2. And, if you don’t peek, do you ever feel tempted?

  1. No, I never peek ahead or read ahead. In fact, I don't even read the back-of-the-book blurb, because I don't like to read with preconceived ideas.
  2. Not at all. I love the feeling of expectation, of not knowing what's going to happen. If a book gets really tense, I might read faster, but I don't want anything to spoil the whole experience of the book.

I agree with you, Darla. I'd also read faster when the plot is getting tense. ;)

I never want anything to spoil for me either or the whole experince won't be as excited for me. Hey I know about you and the book blurb LOL

I don't peek either, but I do read back blurbs. With an untried author the back blurb gives me an idea if it's the kind of story I want to read.

I'm not tempted to jump ahead or peek, but I do tend to read fast or skim to get to the height of the suspense. That's probably why when I read books a second time, I pick up stuff I missed the first. LOL!

I always peek and I always hate myself, especially for the mysteries. My god, it's dessert first ruining even the dessert.

Time to get out the hairshirt.
