An Inconvenient Truth
**** An Inconvenient Truth. Documentary.
Directed by: Davis Guggenheim
Starring: Al Gore
We actually watched this one a few weeks ago, having bought the DVD at Christmas. If you've been living in a cave, this is Al Gore's documentary about global warming.
I found it well organized, easy to understand without being overly simplistic, and very thought-provoking. It left me both infuriated and chagrined.

I thought it was an excellent movie as well. The thing that bothers me about it is that the people who really need to watch it, wouldn;t go see it because it's Gore's movie. In reality, there was very little politics in the movie. Don't you agree?
I blogged about it here:

I was pretty impressed by how Gore sidestepped politics. There were just a couple of instances, like when he introduced himself as the former president-elect--just enough to not be coy about it.
Sadly, you're right--the people who need to see it just dismiss it because of politics. That book by Michael Crichton didn't help, either.

We just got Netflix and this is one of the next ones we'll see. Glad you didn't reveal the ending.:)
Just read your post on it--nice job, Kim! I wish I were as hopeful. Even if they would watch it, I'm afraid the "nonbelievers" (as if it were a religious issue) would discount the message, citing those media reports.
Maybe I'm wrong, and I'm just cynical because I'm bummed by this nasty, wet, gray winter that is in no way attributable to global warming despite all the records being set. :)
