Another book meme

I just got tagged by Melody--well, actually a couple of days ago, but this has been The Week From Hellâ„¢, so I'm just now getting

161 & 5 Book MemeRules
1. Grab the book closest to you
2. Open it to page 161
3. Find the fifth full sentence
4. Post the text of the sentence to your blog
5. Don't search around for the coolest book you have, use the one that is really next to you
6. Tag five people to do this meme.

Simple enough:
I just finished Armageddon's Children by Terry Brooks, and haven't started a new book yet, so that's easy.
Neither Owl nor Hawk could figure out what was going on, but they knew it was something important.
Not too dramatic, but it could be worse.

I'll tag... Kate and Caryle and Candy Minx and May and Marg.

And of course if anyone is interested to play along, you are welcome to do so. Just leave a comment and I will pay a visit. :)

Hey Darla, thanks for playing! :)

I could have tag you, Darla but Melody already tagged you. I never read book by Terry Brooks before...but can't wait to rea dyour reviews on it :)

OH, I'll do this one now!

From Lord of Light, Roger Zelazny ... 9th printing, Avon paperback edition (c. 1969):

Siddhartha did not reply at once.

Cool. So, how's the book? I haven't read Zelazny in a long time, and I'm not sure whether I'd read this one or not.

I think I've read enough Zelazny to say that it's his best long fiction -- someone commented that his best short stories are like lightning in a bottle; Lord of Light is a series of chapters, each a standalone story in its own right, but interconnected and with variable time jumps in between (years to hours) detailing Sam's struggles against his heavenly peers.

If you're just looking for some good Zelazny, though, I'd start off with The Doors of His Face, the Lamps of His Mount, excellent collection of short stories.

Thanks! I put both on my list.
